Lifting the game for small businesses

Uncategorized

Recently, I had a chat with a small business owner over coffee. There was one key takeaway point. Small business owners work very hard IN their businesses (at least most do), and this is praiseworthy. But they put less effort working ON their businesses. We agreed that keeping the right balance is required for success. Arguably, most of our growth will come from the latter.

Statistics indeed shows approximately 50% survival rate for small and medium scale businesses in Australia over a five year period 2011 to 2015 i.e. businesses employing 0 to 19 staff that commenced 2011 (Australian Bureau of Statistics report 2016). We can (and should) help reduce this trend by supporting small businesses in working ON their businesses for growth and sustainability.

Tri-W Pty Ltd provides scalable solutions to support small businesses. Visions are revisited, business plans made more workable (if there was one) or developed where there is none. Fit-for-purpose project / work / value management systems are put in place to track progress while preserving and maximising value. Agility and continuous improvement is built into the business systems with the associated required culture change. Business owners and their people are at the center of these efforts. They are key to success. Ongoing personal / professional / leadership development are also provided including training, mentoring and coaching. All these must be value-adding, more so for small business owners who don’t have the luxury of big budgets.

We are lifting the game for small businesses. We welcome feedback comments, lessons learned, suggestions. Other small business owners and their support team can join in this conversation please.
